2/3/06- Tyler Update #1
Dana, Ty, and I thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and support. Believe me we can feel them in Memphis!
Today (Friday) has been a very hard day for Ty. He woke up sick and never really recovered throughout the day. The doctor is concerned about pressure building up in his brain. They did a CT scan and so far all looks the same as Monday night when we first learned of the tumor. Ty is on a heavy dose of steriods (when you see him next in person you will no longer think he is underweight at least that is what we have been told) to reduce the swelling in his brain. We are hopeful it will and that we can begin his treatment the first of next week. We are now in the actual hospital as an inpatient because of the day Ty had. However, as of 8:00 PM our time he had not thrown up in over 2 hours! We hope to be back as an outpatient on Monday.
The doctors, nurses, and support staff are excellent. We really like our primary doctor. He is very down-to-earth! The doctor in charge of his radiation therapy is pretty much the same (just haven't seen as much to date).

We are all miss you and are thinking of you every minute! Ty - I cannot wait to see your new treehouse when you get home. I hope you make an exception and let your Auntie Catie come visit!

Lucy has been barking and barking and FINALLY we figured out what she was telling us.....I want to see Ty and give him a kiss! So, as soon as you can hold her, Nana and Georgie will bring her to you. We can't wait to see you! Love and kisses....Nana, Georgie and Lucy

We hope and pray that today will bring you a better day than yesterday. I heard that you did meet Elizabeth Barnwell - she has promised to take good care of you. I am also ready and willing to come up to help if you need it - just say the word and I'll be there. Know that many people are reaching out to help keep the boys busy while you are away - don't worry about them - just concentrate on that sweet boy with you! I'm praying especially hard today that the steroids work and he can begin treatment on Monday -
