Tyler William Scott

Tyler William Scott fought a very courageous battle with a very aggressive brainstem tumor. Tyler died peacefully with his Mom and Dad by his side this morning. As he was in life Tyler was beautiful as he passed on.

Dana and I greatly appreciate all the support and prayers. Our prayers have been answered as Tyler did not suffer.

We will provide information for the viewing and funeral once arrangements have been finalized.

Love,

Dana and Howard

Howard and Dana,

Though it is hard for all of us to understand why God did not bring your family the miracle we all prayed so hard for, I hope you find some comfort in knowing that Tyler has brought thousands of people in this community a different kind of miracle -- a reminder of the power of love and how much we all need each other. People who a week ago were strangers have prayed together, hoped together and cried together, all brought together by the amzazing sprit of your precious child. May God raise you up on His eagles's wings and hold you in the palm of his hand. I am the room mother in Bryce's class -- there are so many parents that want to help, please let me know if there is anything we can do for your family or for Bryce. We will continue to pray that God will give you strength and comfort.

1 Peter 5:6-10 says...
Humble ourselved, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all you anxiety on him beecause he cares for you.

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around liek a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have sufffered a little while, will restore YOU and make you firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. AMEN

Little Angels
When God calls little children to dwell with Him above, We mortals sometime question the wisdom of His love. For no heartache compares with the death of one small child Who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of caling the aged to His Fold, so He picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few; To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try The saddest word mankind knows will always be "Goodbye". So when a little child departs, we who are left behind, Must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find.
To our newest angel in Heaven, Tyler! You will be missed!

Ephesians 3:15 – 20

I pray that, according to the riches of His glory, He may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through His spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

For me Tyler reminded me of these great life lessons: how precious life is, to take nothing for granted, to enjoy every day no matter what and to love better. Thank you Tyler,

Howard & Dana,

Hold dear to one another and your family during this time. It is the comfort of those who love you and your family, and the love and protection of God that will carry you through and over this most tragic situation.

We never know why God gives us different burdens to bear. But there is comfort in knowing that he blesses us with strength that seems to come from nowhere and people and who will carry us through. May God strengthen, encourage and bind the entire family. I will send up my sincerest prayers for your entire family. I'm very sorry that this happened to you. Olivia (colleague of Catie's)

Over the past week I've found myself perpetually going into Heywood's room to gaze at the class picture from Covanant last year. What a happy group of kids. Last night I pulled out the transcripts of the "plays" the kids did for Ms. Miller and Ms. Jordan - remember the story of Joseph and Mary? Tyler was acting the part of a donkey that the Wise Men would ride to see Jesus.

Our family sends to you our deepest condolences. We have thought of you constantly and wish for you strength and the love of your family and many friends. Hold tight.

Tyler was truly a godsend. For the five years I knew him there were so many great times. His birthday with the farm animals especially stands out. I was lucky enough to spend a weekend with him a few weeks before he passed, and it was one of the most memorable times in my life. Tyler was truly beautiful as a person, both in birth, life, and death. No one will forget him, how could we? He left his mark, the little workerman.

I was so saddened to hear of Tyler's passing. My thoughts and prayers remain with you all.

I truly believe that when any young child passes away, they go directly into the presence of Jesus...for He said in the Bible "Let all the little children come to me". I am sure Tyler is happy now in heaven, and running around just like young boys love to do...not sick and not debilitated.
One thing that I want to share is something that our Pastor says: "The most often spoken word in heaven is going to be "ohhhhhh!!" ...because we have no idea why God does some things...like taking sweet young Tyler from this life...but one day when we get to heaven and look up the "Blockbuster Video" of Tyler's life...I am sure we will all be amazed at how God worked through the life and the death of this beautiful little boy.

We will continue to pray for you all. May God grant you all comfort and strength during this most difficult time.

Dear Dana, Howard, Chase, Bryce, and Aidan;

I’m truly sorry for your loss. Tyler was a blessing to get to know in Sunday school. I looked forward to seeing him every Sunday. His beautiful smiling face was always a highlight to my day. He will be missed greatly.

Love,
Leslie

When God calls our children
to dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometimes question
the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with,
the death of one small child.
Who does so much to make our world,
seem so wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to His fold.
So He picks a rosebud
before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
and so He takes but few.
To make the land of heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try.
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be Good-bye.
So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind,
Must realize God loves children,
And
Angels Are Hard To Find!!

Thank you Tyler, for letting me be a part of your wonderful, however short, life. You will always be on my mind and in my heart.

To All Parents
by Edgar Guest

"I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine," He said.
"For you to love the while he lives and mourn when he is dead,
"It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three,
"But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

"He'll bring his charms to gladden you, but should his stay be brief,
"You'll have his lovely memories, as solace for your grief,
"I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
"But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.

"I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true,
"And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have selected you.
"Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
"Nor hate me when I come to call to take him back again?

I fancied that I heard them say: "Dear Lord, Thy will be done!
"For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness; we'll love him while we may,
And for happiness we've known forever grateful stay.

"But should the angels call for him much sooner than we'd planned,
"We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."

Dear Scott Family
Tyler and your entire family has been on my mind and in my prayers ever since we got the letter home on Monday from Sharon Baptist, my son Wilson is in Aiden's class. My heart goes out to you as I can't imagine how you are feeling right now. I wanted to share a poem that has brought me comfort in the past with the loss of a family member.

From Stptember: by Rosamunde Pilcher

Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into you tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household work that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well.

I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.
Love
Angie Haynie

As we all remember Tyler and his beautiful smile, may your family draw nearer to one another as you continue to share Tyler with each other. I know he will remain a part of your family and this difficult experience a special bond between you forever.

Even I, who knew him so little, was impressed by his life and joy. And even I, a mere summer acquaintance, I will never forget him.

We wish you God's peace and comfort.

Dear Dana, Howard, Chase, Bryce and Adian,

My heart has ached for you all since the last Sunday I saw Tyler and it broke this morning when I heard of his passing. I can't not imagine what you all are going through. May it bring you forever PEACE knowing that he did not suffer and he is now building with the Master Carpenter.

Thank you for the opportunity to get to know Tyler in the times I had teaching him to swim and in Sunday School were we both learned about God's love for us all. I will miss him and his silliness.

You all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. May you receive comfort in the thoughts and prayers of others, there are so many people who care.

Peace and Love to you all,

Julie

I heard about Tyler through one of my friends, Meghan O. and she kept me updated through everything. I wanted to tell you I am very sorry for your loss. From what i heard Tyler was an awesome little boy and that he brightened many peoples day. I know he is in a good place. God had a plan for us all, even Tyler. He had a great purpose in life. All the moments you shared with him will be remembered forever in people who knew him. I am sorry, and i pray for him and your family.

I have never met you all but I assure you - Tyler's life is affecting the world more than you or he would have ever dreamed possible. His passing will not be in vain. As parents, he is teaching us to never take our children for granted, that every day is a gift. Please know that there are countless people praying for your family. Thank you to Tyler and to the Scott family for sharing his story.
